Pro Football Hall of Famer, Art Monk, a first-round draft choice of Washington in 1980, wasted little time in establishing himself as a premier wide receiver in the NFL.



Known for his fearless style of play, Monk developed a reputation as a master of the short pass route, leaving defenses unable to adjust.



During his 14 seasons with Washington, Monk became one of the most productive receivers in NFL history, accumulating three Super Bowl Championships (XVII, XXII, and XXVI). He was an All-Pro and All-NFC choice in 1984 and 1985, and selected to play in the Pro Bowl following the 1984, 1985, and 1986 seasons.
